About the
ADSHG and how to join

The
Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group is the UK support group
for people with Addison’s and their families. First
started in 1984, the group is now a registered charity
governed by a body of elected trustees, which works to
support its members with adrenal failure and to promote
better medical understanding of this rare condition.

About the
ADSHG
The group has
around 850 members, of whom nearly 640 are women. They
range in age from roughly 8 to 91 years old. Most of our
members live within the United Kingdom, from Penzance in
Cornwall to Fife in Scotland. A few are resident abroad,
including Spain, Cyprus, Germany and Australia.

- postal membership
Membership of
the ADSHG is open to anyone with Addison's Disease,
family and friends, medical personnel or anyone with
an interest in Addison's Disease. A small annual fee is
charged to cover administration.

- no-postal membership (e-Membership)
No-postal
membership (e-Membership) like regular membership, is open
to anyone with Addison's Disease, family and friends or anyone with an interest in
Addison's Disease. For a small annual fee e-Membership provides
electronic delivery of our publications (no postal
delivery) and access
to our
e-group forum.

ADSHG - Medical membership (e-Membership)
The
Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group, with the support of the
Addison’s Clinical Advisory Panel, are launching a new
medical membership option for medical personnel
who wish to keep in touch with current thinking about the
management of Addison’s disease.
