About the ADSHG and how to join - What we do

The Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group is the UK support group for people with Addison’s and their families. First started in 1984, the group is now a registered charity governed by a body of elected trustees, which works to support its members with adrenal failure and to promote better medical understanding of this rare condition..

 

The group offers support and information to its members in the following ways:

 

1.   A newsletter, published four times a year in September, Decembers, March and June each year available in print and PDF format.

 

2.   An internationally-recognised website www.addisons.org.uk (this website)

 

3.   An electronic discussion group www.addisons.org.uk/forum  through which members can share their experiences in managing day-to-day aspects of medication and lifestyle. 

 

4.   An annual medical lecture, regional seminars and social meetings

 

5.   A range of patient education materials, written by the Addison's disease clinical advisory panel (ACAP):
