Meet the ADSHG Executive

Deana Kenward: President & Trustee

Deana founded the Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group in 1984, a few years after her diagnosis. For many years, until Nick Willson established the e-mail and website networks that allow committee members to provide support to Deana, she ran the group’s activities single-handed. Without her efforts over many years, the group would not be here today. Deana still acts as coordinator for the group, enrolling new members, keeping track of the ever-growing database of members and managing our mail-outs to members. She travels to as many group meetings as she can to meet new members and catch up with old friends.

Deana is the mother of two grown sons and a proud grandmother of one. She recently retired after more than 25 years loyal service at her local supermarket, where she worked night shifts (9pm to 7am) in replenishment, a job she had maintained since before her diagnosis.
