Jan
was diagnosed with Addisons in January 2003 and joined ADSHG
soon after. She helped with the 2003 international survey on
Addison’s, inputting data, and joined the editorial team in
2005. She has also helped staff the ADSHG display stall at
conferences and taken part in a medical trial at
Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge.
Jan
has been a teacher all her professional life, working with
children with specific learning difficulties as part of a
Lambeth advisory team. She is retiring this summer and will
have more time to offer towards the work of the ADSHG. She
has one son who is due to go to Leeds University next
September. Travelling and exploring the world are
interests she hopes to do more of once retired! She enjoys
listening to a wide range of music and particularly likes
live concerts.
Jan
has found the group an invaluable source of support and
information and is keen to help others in the future.
