Our athletes – our heroes

Three members of the ADSHG – all with Addison’s – took part in marathons in April 2010.  Peter completed the Brighton marathon on 18 April, while Greg and Debra completed the London marathon on 25 April.  Here, they tell their stories.

It really was a wonderful day. I came across the finish line of the London marathon in 3 hours 22 minutes and 38 seconds.

I was eight miles into running the Brighton Marathon (my first) and realised that I wasn’t getting into my stride. My pulse rate was high and my energy levels weren’t rising to the challenge of another 18 miles. How did I ever get myself in such a situation?
