      The Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group, with the support and guidance of its Clinical Advisory Panel, publishes education materials for people with Addison's and their medical teams regarding the treatment and management of Addison's and other types of adrenal insufficiency.       In this section we feature real-life experiences of emergencies, by our members who describe how they coped with severe illnesses or accidents. In addition, we often ask a medical adviser to the ADSHG to comment on the experiences of our members, and where necessary, to offer suggestions as to what the individual might have done differently.

      The Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group (ADSHG) is the support group in the UK and Ireland for people with Addison’s disease or adrenal insufficiency and their families. First started in 1984, the Group is now a registered charity (no.1106791) governed by a body of elected trustees, which works to support its members with adrenal failure and to promote better medical understanding of this rare condition.

    10. Addison's Ireland

      Addison's Ireland is the Irish branch of the Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group (ADSHG) with approximately 104 members from around the country both north and south. It organises regular meetings in Dublin and around the country and works to raise awareness of Addison's in Ireland.
