Deana Kenward founded the Addison's Disease Self-Help Group in 1984. Through her hard-work and dedication, our charity has gone from strength to strength in the intervening years, increasing the support and information we are able to provide to people with Addison's and their families. Deana is now the President of the ADSHG and is still involved in the day-to-day running of the Group. This is Deana's account of being diagnosed with Addison's disease and subsequently setting-up the ADSHG, as published in a medical book on endocrinology by Professors G Michael Besser and Michael O. Thorner.

In June 2015, Stuart Jones and his friend Richard Topping climbed Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Western Europe, to raise money for the ADSHG and Great Ormond Street Hospital. Stuart has Addison’s himself, so this was an amazing achievement and we are so grateful to them for choosing to support us in this way.
