The Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group (ADSHG) is the support group in the UK and Ireland for people with Addison’s disease or adrenal insufficiency and their families. First started in 1984, the Group is now a registered charity (no.1106791) governed by a body of elected trustees, which works to support its members with adrenal failure and to promote better medical understanding of this rare condition.

Membership of the ADSHG is open to anyone with Addison's or other forms of adrenal insufficiency that result in steroid dependence. Family members, friends or anyone with an interest adrenal medicine are also welcome. You can join as an e-member receiving your material electronically through the website or as a postal member. Most of our members have primary adrenal insufficiency (Addison's) but people whose steroid-dependence is from causes are welcome to join the group, to share support around managing their dependency on this life-saving medication.

The Addison's Clinical Advisory Panel (ACAP) is an informal group of endocrinologists with an interest in adrenal medicine. They advise the ADSHG on its clinical guidelines, write medical commentaries and review our publications for us. They are led by Professor John Wass of the Churchill Hospital, Oxford.

Addison's Ireland is the Irish branch of the Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group (ADSHG) with approximately 104 members from around the country both north and south. It organises regular meetings in Dublin and around the country and works to raise awareness of Addison's in Ireland.
