Q: A
lady asks what she can do, if anything, about the fact that
she has lost quite a lot of muscle at the top of her thighs
and suffers pain, also in the bones on the front of her
legs. A scan a year ago was fine. |

A: Your
member should not lose muscle at the top of her legs because
of Addison's Disease or it's replacement. Muscle mass is
only lost at the top of the legs due to replacement therapy
if this is excessive. It is to prevent the exposure to such
excessive levels that we carry out regular day curve
measurements of hydrocortisone levels in the blood on the
patient's ordinary replacement. If your member is having
correct replacement therapy then such muscle loss, like the
pain in the bones at the front of the legs, must be due to
something else. |
