 Gall Stones from calcium tablets?

Q: After ultra sound and tests a group member was told she had gall stones, she is on Didronate treatment for osteoporosis which includes 76 days taking calcium tablets with vitamin "D". The question here is could the calcium tablets be causing the gall stones as her, doctor does not know.

A: Gall stones are not due to calcium retention. Treatment with didronate or calcium vitamin D tablets will not produce or influence gall stones.
