Q: My Mother who has Addison's Disease has had one infection after another and on each occasion has been given antibiotics. In total, over the year she has had nine lots of antibiotics! This concerns me, and I would like to enquire as to whether at some stage the body is going to react against large doses of antibiotics.

A: Recurrent infections are not a feature particularly of Addison's Disease when properly treated. Provided safe antibiotics are given and there are gaps in between courses, repeated courses should not cause trouble.
