  Hair loss in females
By: Emeritus Professor of Medicine and Senior Endocrinologist
 Date: February 1998
 Ref: Q5- NO.36 Feb 1998

Q: Is there a reason for hair loss in female Addisonians. My hair is not falling out in clumps but it is getting very thin. I had a year on prempak C (HRT) I have no other health conditions. Is there anything I can do to prevent further hair loss?

A: Hair loss in women with Addison's Disease: If you have hair loss in the head despite adequate treatment of Addison's Disease and the exclusion of treatment of thyroid deficiency then I think you should regard the excessive hair loss as being unrelated.
