Medical Questions - Date Index

By:  Nick Willson  Thursday, 20. February 2003

The ADSHG is grateful to the UK endocrinologists who have given their time to answer questions about living with Addison's disease and to those national groups who have given us permission to reproduce the advice from their medical advisers. Much of the information on these pages comes from the work of the principal medical adviser to the ADSHG over many years, now an emeritus professor, in response to questions submitted by members of the ADSHG.

As far as possible, the information given in these pages reflects best practice within the UK regarding medication and medical care. This may differ from the approach adopted in other countries. Please be aware that endocrinologists do not agree in all respects as to what is best practice in the diagnosis and care of Addison's disease, either within the UK or internationally. Where the ADSHG becomes aware of significant divergences we will seek comment from adrenal specialists, but cannot guarantee that we will be able to represent all points of view.

We suggest that you should always consult your doctor about your symptoms and treatment; they know the details of your medical history.

The questions and answers are listed in chronological order to help you browse through all the medical questions and answers.
