The Addison’s rose: Our Beth

By:  Katherine White  Sunday, 21. May 2006

Peter Beales Roses are launching a new rose, Our Beth, and have generously offered to make 10% of all sales proceeds available to the ADSHG. .

The rose is named in memory of the late Beth Loasby who worked in the offices of Peter Beales Roses for almost 10 years and was well loved by all those who knew who.  She had diabetes as well as Addison’s disease and died unexpectedly from complications of her diabetes.  Peter Beales Roses are making 10% of all sales proceeds available to the ADSHG in memory of her.

Our Beth is an attractive, continuous flowering shrub rose with large, fragrant, blush-pink flowers and plentiful dark green foliage.  It can be grown as a small climber, is suitable for hedging and will tolerate poor soil.  Maximum size 4 x 3 feet (1.2m x 1m).

Our Beth will be available as a mail order, bare-rooted plant from November 2006 – March 2007. Potted plants will then be available in summer 2007 if there is sufficient interest.  Peter Beales Roses can send bare-rooted plants to most international destinations and are taking advance orders now for autumn 2006.  This would make a great gift for anyone you know who is a keen gardener.
