Gilmore review - 28-day
prescriptions
In its
submission to the Gilmore review of prescription charges,
the ADSHG recommended that prescription charging could be
phased out in a cost-neutral way by placing patients with
long-term medication dependencies on three-six month repeat
prescriptions, as appropriate.

So close to dying
Tracy
was very ill with the classic symptoms of Addison's
disease. Despite this, her local hospital sent her home in
the belief that she had "a dietary problem". Tracy's story
is a reminder that Addison's disease remains rare enough to
be easily overlooked by general medical practitioners, until
it is severely advanced.
